This breed is the result of crossing an American Shorthair with a Persian. The Exotic Shorthair is a man-made breed. Separated and called a breed of its own by the 1960's, it has retained the head and body style of the Persian. This sweet, gentle and charming cat is also known as the "Lazy Man's Persian".
