Harrier Breeders
These dogs probably descend from Bloodhounds crossed
with ancestors of today's Beagle. Their name comes from the
Norman French word "harrier" which means "hunting
dog". These are compact dogs, quick, hardy and with the
finest sense of smell. Playful, outgoing, sweet tempered and
tolerant, they are excellent with children. They make pleasant
companions when sufficiently exercised, without it they can become a
nuisance. Their short haired coat is easy to groom. Brush
occasionally to remove the dead hairs. Harriers weigh 40 to 60
lbs. and stand 19-21" at the shoulders. Contact
the dog breeders below for your next family friend.
